On May 2021, 7, President Ilham Aliyev signed an order to declare Shusha the cultural capital of Azerbaijan. As the homeland to the countless outstanding and reknown figures, once coined as “Temple of Art of the Caucasus“, “Cradle of Azerbaijani music” and “Conservatory of the East", Shusha always played a vital role in social and political life of Azerbaijan.

In that sense, declaration of Shusha the cultural capital of Azerbaijan had an important international significance. The liberation of Shusha is the most glorious victory in the history of Azerbaijan in the last two centuries.
