The city of Shusha was elected a member of the League of Historic Cities

The membership of the city of Shusha was announced at the meeting of the General Assembly of the League of Historic Cities (LHC) held within the framework of the 18th World Conference held in Andong, South Korea on November 14-16, 2022.

Shibata Shigenori, General Secretary of the League of Historical Cities, announced the election of Shusha as a member of the League at the meeting of the General Assembly held within the framework of the 18th World Conference held in Andong, South Korea on November 14-16, 2022.


Later, Aydin Karimov, the special representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Shusha region, spoke and informed the participants of the General Assembly about the historical and cultural importance of Shusha, the vandalism committed by Armenians during the occupation, and the improvement and construction works carried out in Shusha.
    
Note that LHC is an international platform that includes 126 cities from different countries of the world. Within the framework of LHC, different cities cooperate closely in the direction of protecting historical and cultural heritage, protecting historical and cultural monuments and increasing the tourism potential of member cities.
